Emergency Protocol: 0 to 2h after loss
Critical actions to take immediately after your pet disappears to maximize recovery chances.
CRITICAL ADVICE
Never run after a fleeing dog. They will interpret it as a game or a threat and move further away. Sit or lie down to intrigue them and make them return to you.
1. Immediate Physical Search
The first few minutes are crucial. 90% of lost pets are found within a 2km radius if reported immediately.
Field Checklist
Why staying calm is Vital?
Your pet picks up on your stress. If you shout in a panicked voice, they may be afraid to approach, thinking they’re in danger or will be scolded. Take deep breaths before Each call.
2. Digital and Administrative Alert
Once the initial physical search fails, switch to “Wide Alert” mode.
Check that your contact details are up to date on your national pet registry (e.g. Petlog in UK). A microchipped pet whose owner is unreachable often ends up in a shelter.
How to prioritize Lost'Him?
Open the app, press “Create an alert”, and complete the report. A ‘Push’ notification will be sent instantly to all users within a 5 to 10km radius. This is your digital search ‘army’.
